The Transition Research Institute at the University of Illinois (TRI),
established in 1985, identifies effective
practices, conducts intervention and evaluation research, and provides technical
assistance activities that promote
the successful transition of youth with disabilities from school to adult life. TRI also
serves as an information
resource for teachers, service providers and researchers statewide, nationally and
internationally. The Transition Research Institute is the lead institution for the
consortium, the National Transition Alliance for Youth
with Disabilities (NTA).

Tri-Talk, an electronic discussion group on the Internet, was established by TRI to facilitate transition information sharing and networking among professionals, researchers, practitioners, project directors, parents and students. Tri-Talk is a free service to you to help you find out what others are doing to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. Currently, there are over 250 subscribers nationwide.
