Transfer Application Information

The College of Education reviews applications from transfer students once a year in the Spring for Fall admission consideration. Admission of transfer students is based on the following criteria: hours completed, grade point average earned at the time of application, completion of required course pattern, passing the state-mandated Test of Basic Skills prior to application, and the quality of the essay submitted on the campus application. Transfer students applying to programs in the College of Education must have completed at least 60 transferable semester hours (30 transferable semester hours for Special Education or Pre-Teacher Education) by the desired term of entry and have earned a 3.1 grade point average. (A student whose cumulative average is slightly below the minimum criteria may be considered individually, on a petition basis, if enrollment vacancies exist in the curriculum to which the student is seeking admission and the student demonstrates a strong commitment to the education field.)

Students interested in pursuing a degree program in Elementary, Early Childhood or Special Education apply to the appropriate curriculum in the College of Education. Students interested in preparing for teacher certification in secondary education should apply to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for admission to the major subject in which they will seek certification (English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, Geology (earth & space science) science, history (social science).
