Passwords you need to create/change

This section will explain how to begin acquiring your passwords after you receive your master "Bluestem" NetID and password from the university. Please note that your Net ID, Enterprise ID and AD login will be the same throughout your time at UIUC.
However, each password may be different. For most systems you’ll have the option to change your initial password once you’ve logged in for the first time. In addition, you will have a seperate login and password for accessing Eduacation Online live sessions (Elluminate login/password). Please refer to the following for more information.

1. University Login/Passwords

  • This is your master ID
  • Used to Activate the UI EnterpriseID
  • Used to Set up Active Directory (AD) Password
  • Access the UIUC Library Gateway
  • Access the UIUC bookstore
  • Access the UIUC course evaluation system (ICES Online)
  • Access the Education.Online course system
  • Access UIUC Express email
  • Access NetFiles (a web publishing tool and file storage service) and the College of Education student webfolders.
  • Access on-campus computers.
 
What You Need to do
  • Activate your NetID
  • Setup/Change NetID password
  • Use your Master Bluestem NetID to create/change Enterprise ID/password.
  • Use your Enterprise ID to register.
  • Create/change Enterprise ID password
  • Use your Master Bluestem NetID to create/change AD password.

Password Assistance

   Password Assistance is also offered by Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services

2. Elluminate Login/Password

Elluminate is a synchronous space where the course live sessions are held.You cannot change your Elluminate ID or Password.

  • Your Elluminate login is: Your UIUC NetID-UIUC (ex: jdoe-UIUC)
  • Your Password is: Your UIUC NetID (ex: jdoe)

     

How to manage your passwords

CITES Password Vault

PasswordVault is a program that securely stores all of your passwords on your computer. PasswordVault can store passwords related to your University computing accounts and whatever other passwords you choose to store, such as personal banking accounts and the like. No matter how many passwords you store, you need to remember only your master password to access all of them.For more information, please refer to the following links.
