The Office of the CIO exists in large part to make work in the college more efficient and to support innovation. We often hear something to the effect of "I wish we had talked to you before we did X." Please give us a chance to talk with you about your projects, plans, opportunities, and problems. Examples of situations where we can help include the following:

New Employee Orientation: Do you have a new employee arriving and want to make sure they've got the accounts and access privileges, not to mention the training, they need to be productive?

Common Business Practices Scheduling, purchasing, inventory, student records Solutions Evaluation: Are you considering buying or developing a solution for a specific business need? If there's a technical aspect to it, please consider involving us to make sure opportunities are maximized and incompatibilities minimized.

Grant Planning & Writing: To answer questions such as... What technology will I need or can be useful? How will it be maintained and by whom? How much will it cost? If proposal calls for technical staff, how will they be managed? How will their efforts be articulated with the College? What can the Office of the CIO do for my project? How can the Office of the CIO increase the chances of getting funded? How have other grant proposals benefited from the Office of the CIO's involvement?

Project Planning and Management: How formal and extensive does your project management need to be? Who can provide project management?
