Consulting Help for Web Sites
CIO offers different types of consulting depending on how complex of a web site you are developing or maintaining.
For most web publishing work, you should call CIO's Help Desk at 244-6053 and schedule a consulting session with an CIO Office Consultant. CIO Office Consultants can:
- help you with basic web design and publishing issues
- help you use publishing tools such as Dreamweaver and Frontpage.
- help you work with multimedia technogies such as editing images, video and streaming technology.
- direct you to resources and training
For department and unit web publishing, we recommend you work directly with the College of Education Webmaster. This will allow you take advantage of web site tools that are available to departments and units. S/he can also help keep you in touch with College of Education web publishing templates and publishing recommendations. Contact the College of Education Webmaster at 333-3667 or email webmaster@mail.ed.uiuc.edu. The College Webmaster can also create web folders on the COE Web Server.
For grant work that requires special functionality such as discussion boards, database driven content, web-to-database forms, authentication, etc, contact the Project Manager of the Network Applications Group of CIO. The Project Manager can help you determine what CIO can help you with and refer you to other posssible development resources for your site.
