CIO Initiatives

CIO regularly seeks new ways to provide compelling services to its faculty, staff and students.  Many of these opportunities come in the form of partnerships and grants. Below is a list of some of the initiatives CIO has undertaken to better serve the College of Education community.

PT3 Grant: TALENT
A federal grant intended to investigate the most effective means for integrating technology in the preparation and practice of new teachers.
Moveable Feast ( MS Recognition)
A training program offered by CIO teachers and administrators emphasizing the integration of technology in conjunction with Illinois and Engaged Learning standards. The Moveable Feast has been recognized by Microsoft in their "Model Professional Development" site.
Generation Y
Part of the TALENT grant, the Generation www.Y project pairs students with teachers as they develop technology-rich lesson plans for classroom use.
Innovative Teachers Grant
CIO received this grant to provide software licenses and online community-building tools to colleges that partner with local school districts.
Online Annual Report
A web-based application intended to streamline the Annual Report process for faculty while capitalizing on the accessibility and integration of data in order to better serve administrative needs.
Inventory
CIO is currently working on a solution intended to simplify asset management and to bridge the gap between the University's online inventory system and local asset management needs.
