The Department of Educational Organization and Leadership offers a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in higher education. This position reflects a commitment by the College of Education and UIUC Provost to extend research and teaching capacity in higher education in the areas of outcomes assessment, measurement, evaluation, quantitative methods, and related areas of expertise. The successful candidate will maintain a vigorous program of funded research and teach courses of wide appeal to students in the College and beyond interested in higher education, including learning outcome assessment and related measurement, quantitative research methods, and evaluation.
Qualifications: The position requires an earned doctorate in higher education or a closely related field of study. Senior candidates must demonstrate teaching excellence, a successful track record in securing external research funding, and exemplary service, with national visibility in the profession. Candidates at the assistant professor level must demonstrate potential to achieve these accomplishments.
Responsibilities: The individual sought for this position should understand the diverse social, economic and policy context in which higher education operates. The person selected for this position is expected to continue to advance the College of Education's reputation and national ranking and expand the faculty's capacity to advise students and teach such courses as higher education outcomes assessment, educational measurement, and public policy in higher education, in addition to teaching courses in research methods. The candidate is expected to engage actively in the recently established Forum for the Future of Public Education at UIUC as well as other initiatives emerging in the College of Education such as STEM, the Center on Small Urban Communities, and Ubiquitous Learning. This individual will be expected to contribute to the College's grant productivity, including through collaboration with faculty in other departments within the College and with faculty in other campus units.
Starting Date and Salary: The starting date is August 16, 2008, although a later starting date may be negotiated. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
