POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor in Human Resource Education with specialization in educational technology. This is a tenure accruing position.
PROPOSED STARTING DATE: January 16, 2007
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have:
- An earned doctorate with an emphasis in educational technology.
- Experience in applications of educational technology, especially in community college and/or business and industrial settings.
- Evidence of preparation to teach graduate courses in educational technology.
- A record of scholarly productivity in the field of educational technology exhibited through research, publication, and grant activity.
- Interest and ability to work on collaborative research and development.
- The ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the graduate program of the Department of Human Resource Education as follows:
- Design and teach courses in applications of educational technology at the graduate level, with emphasis on application in a variety of learning situations, including school-based, community college, and private sector settings.
- Plan and implement a program of research related to educational technology.
- Contribute to the development and coordination of the Technology Studies in Education (TSE) specialization within the College of Education.
- Advise master's and doctoral students specializing in educational technology.
- Assist UIUC faculty, Illinois community colleges, and corporations in effectively integrating technology into their educational activities.
- Play an active role in professional associations.
- Serve on department, college, and campus committees and fulfill various other assignments common to the professional role.
RANK: This is a regular, full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
SALARY: Competitive, depending on scholarly record and experience.
