EAAA Allerton Conference

The EAAA held the 43rd Allerton Conference on November 2-3, 2006 at Historic Allerton House in Monticello, Illinois. The Allerton Conference was rich with tradition and was an exclusive experience for graduates and students of the University of Illinois Education Administration program. Each year's conference offered a rich blend of research, theory, and practice and an opportunity to interact with faculty members, practicing administrators, and current graduate students. The Allerton Conference has closed its doors for now and EAAA has worked with the Education Alumni Association (EAA) to continue its mission of outreach to the alumni of the Education Administration program at the University of Illinois.  The Lotto and Dodds Awards, which had traditionally been awarded at the Allerton Conference, are now awarded at the College of Education Awards Ceremony each November.  We appreciate the support that has been shown to the EAAA and Allerton Conference over the years.    

About the Allerton Conference Center

Robert Henry Allerton donated his private estate,"The Farms," to the University of Illinois in 1946. The property, which is located just outside of Monticello, Illinois, consists of 1,500 acres of formal gardens, nature areas, and manor house. In keeping with Robert Allerton's orginal concept, the estate is used as a conservation area devoted to education, research, and recreation. Today, more than 100,000 people - including researchers, teachers, and students as well as the general public - visit the park or attend conferences at the Conference Center each year.

The Conference Center, which consists of the main house and three additional lodging buildings, is surrounded by the 1,500 acre Park. Whatever the season, Robert Allerton Conference Center provides the perfect setting for your conference, seminar, workshop, or business meeting. Located just 26 miles from the University of Illinois campus in Urbana-Champaign, this secluded retreat is used by many departments of the University as well as public organizations, service clubs, businesses, and governmental agencies.
