Feedback Form

Summary

Feedback forms are forms for web visitors to give feedback on the site.  Links to feedback forms will automatically appear on some templates (standard and standard sidebar). You may also add you own links to feedback forms.

Why Use Them?

Feedback form have the following advantages:

  • They avoid putting email address on the web site.
    • This prevents spam harvesters from getting your email address
    • The web visitor need not have an email client open to give feedback.  This is especially useful if they are not using their own computer.
  • The feedback form results tells you what type of browser they are using and where they have been in the site.  This can help to understand their feedback.
  • Copies of the feedback forms are sent to the College of Education Webmaster.

How to Use Them?

Feedback forms are turned on by default on all web sites.  You need not turn them on, but you should make sure the email they are going to is correct and test the form.  Feedback forms are sent to the email address in the author email address in the page properties or folder properties.  Send a feedback form to test that it is going to the correct email address.

Turning Feedback Forms On and Off

You can turn feedback forms on or off for a single page by setting the the feedback form page property to yes or no.  You can turn them on or off for an entire site or folder by setting the feedback form property to yes or no in the folder properties file.
