Faculty Staff Directory Pages
FSD pages are automatically generated from the faculty and staff data in the College's databases. FSD pages are of two types: indexes such as OET FSD Listing: and detail pages such as the OET Director's.
The FSD data itself such as phone numbers, names, etc. is not controlled by Contribute authors. The data for the FSD comes from a number of places. Individual staff and faculty may edit thier data on the College Intranet. Unit data custodians can affect which and how individuals appear in unit indexes. To find out who your unit's data custodian is, ask in your department's office or contact Anne Price in the dean's office.
Contribute Authors can affect FSD indexes in the ways listed below. They may have to ask their content buddy to actually make the changes in their properties file.
- select who is included in an index. Any of the following may be included: Faculty, Civil, Academic, and Student Employees
- select how the index is grouped. examples include:
- by unithead such as http://www.ed.uiuc.edu/ci/fsd. This listing has everyone in alphabetical order.
- by subunit such as http://www.ed.uiuc.edu/oet/fsd. This listing breaks a unit into its subunits.
- by class such as http://www.ed.uiuc.edu/hre/fsd. This listing is broken down by type of employee. Groupings are Faculty, Academic Professionals, and Staff.
- by tenure such as http://www.ed.uiuc.edu/edpsy/fsd Groups by tenure track or tenured faculty called faculty, non tenure track faculty now called affiliates, all other employee classes called staff, order by name. Academic-prof and civil are grouped under staff and faculty are divided by tenure line. To affect where a staff person is grouped, the units's data custodian should use the "Employee Subclass" field when editing the FSD on the Intranet.
