Contribute 3.1 Upgrade

 

Macromedia has released Contribute 3.1 as an update to Contribute 3.0.  Among its many enhancements (for more details click here) is a fix for the Bold/Italics issue we have been experiencing.  We would recommend that anyone using Contribute 3.0 upgrade to Contribute 3.1 as soon as possible.  It is an in-place install, meaning it will install over Contribute 3.0 and will not require you to uninstall Contribute 3.0 or restart your machine.  You should be able to install Contribute 3.1 by opening the installer file using the instructions below. If you run into problems installing Contribute 3.1 on your Education computer, please call OET's Technology Lifeline Center at 244-6053.

For Windows:

• Click on the Start Button
• Select Run…
• In the window that appears, type the following: \\Public.ed.uiuc.edu\Public\Win\Contribute 3
• Double-click on the Contribute 3.1 installer to update Contribute.

For Mac:

• Click on the Finder icon in the dock.
• Select Connect to Server from the Go menu.
• Enter afp://public.ed.uiuc.edu/public and log in as guest.
• Open the folder "Mac"
• Open folder "Updates & Patches".
• Run updater by double-clicking on "Contribute 3.1 Updater".
• (You may be prompted for a password with administrative privileges on your computer.)
