Course Objectives:
General Objectives
  • Become a good critic of websites instead of just a criticizer
  • Analyze web designs in terms of usability, web structure, purpose of a site, goals, target audience, visual and multimedia sources, and accessibility
  • Enhance the web design or redesign of a major project or of your e-portfolio.
Module 1 Web Management: Looking from the users' point of view.
Objectives
  • In given “models” of educational web sites identify the purpose, goals, target audience, (in) appropriateness in the navigation and use of resources, success of the site to fulfill its purpose
  • State goals, target audience and purpose of your project (e-portfolio/course website/ learning component)
  • Identify (and create) a ‘wish list’ of elements that have to be part of your project
  • Draft your project proposal
  • Evaluate projects proposals from your classmates
Module 2
Objectives
  • Analyze the options for publishing the content.
  • Explore accessibility issues.
  • Identify resources needed to carry on your project
Module 3  
Objectives
  • Develop a multimedia component for your web project
Module 4  
Objectives
  • Present your project to the class
  • Reflect on uses of advanced technologies for education
