Here is a "cheatsheet" of the basic TAPPED IN commands (and some more advanced ones, which you can ignore if you want). For the guided tour, you will only need the basic set.
/FOLLOW <user name> to follow someone from place to place
/UNFOLLOW to stop following
/JOIN <user name> to "teleport" to the same location in TAPPED IN where user name is
/LOGOUT to log out of TAPPED IN
Communicating
/TO <user name> <message> to direct a remark at a particular person (visible to others) (very useful with multiple dialogs going on!)
: <3rd person verb + text> e.g. :smiles (on screen: John smiles) :will be right back (on screen : John will be right back) :has to go to reception (on screen: John has to go to reception)
::'s <noun > to add a possessive to your name e.g. ::'s heart beats faster (on screen: John's heart beats faster.)
/WHISPER <log-in name><text> to relay a message to a particular person visible only to her/him
/THINK <sentence> like cartoon "think" caption e.g. /THINK these people are crazy! (on screen: John . o 0 (These people are crazy!))
/PAGE <user name> <message> to page another person anywhere in TAPPED IN with a Message (in a different "room")
/SIT <furniture name> to sit for private conversation with others on same object. Others not also sitting on object can't see your conversation, but you can still see the general conversation in the room
/STAND to stand so everyone can hear you again, after sitting
/SIGN <text> puts box around your message to make it stand out
/COW <text> puts cow shape around your message
/HOME to return to location user set as home (E511, in our case)
/RECEPTION to return to main Reception area
/OUT to leave a room
/UP to go up a floor
/DOWN to go down a floor
/JOIN <person> to teleport directly to a person in another room
/FOLLOW <person> to keep up with a tour guide who is moving from room to room
These were set when you first registered, but can be modified at any time.
/PASSWORD <old password> <new password> to change your password
/GENDER <male/female> to specify your gender (if you choose to - you have a choice of 10 genders!)
/DESCRIBE ME AS <description> e.g. describe me as I am a Master's student...
/ID <user name> to see official information on yourself (or others)
/NEWGROUP <group name> Give your group a name
/REGISTER <log-in name> Register each group member
/UNREGISTER <log-in name> to delete a name from the group
/SESSION ON To announce the meeting (the room is marked as "CTER(in session) at the Reception for anyone who types WHO)
/DOOR CLOSED When all of your group is present, the group leader can lock others out by closing door. Session participants can leave at any time, however.
/DOOR OPEN At the end of meeting, allow others in the room.
/SESSION OFF to announce to WHO when you've finished (The "in session" label is removed.)
This records every statement and every action input between the DROP and GET commands, but only what is done in the room you're in. New recorders are available in the supply room (click on "Room Supplies) in Web window at right. Click on "Tape Recorder", then edit its features. You then "/PUT" it in a room (or keep it in your pocket)!
1. /GET CTERecorder to start using (literally puts it "in your pocket")
2. /DROP CTERecorder to turn it on
3. Then your conversation and actions will be recorded/transcribed
4. /GET CTERecorder to stop recording (put it back in your pocket)
5. /PUT CTERecorder to make the recorder available to others
/READ CTERecorder to read the transcript of everything recorded (and saved so far)
/MAILME CTERecorder to get an e-mail transcript of everything recorded
/LOOK <person/object name> to get information about a person or object in same room
/ID <person> to get information on another person in TAPPED IN (or yourself)
/EXAMINE <object name> to get a description of an object in the environment
/HELP <topic/name/command> to ask for info on any specific topic
/ORIENT to go to orientation tour (in Web window)
/WHO to see what other people are simultaneously in TAPPED IN
/LOOK to see where you are, who is there, what the contents of the room are
/LOOK <object> to get a list of commands, instructions about an object
/DROP <object>
/GET <object> [FROM <object>] to put object in pocket, generally to be able to use an object
/GIVE <object> TO <person> to give object to another person
/PUT <object> to put an object back in a room after "GET"ing it, makes it available to others
/PUT <object> IN/ON <object> to put an object back in a certain location (e.g. table)
/INVENTORY to see a list of what items are in a room (also visible in Web window at the top)
