I'm Su Quarles. I teach third grade at Lincoln Trail Elementary School in Mahomet, Illinois.

Currently, I'm involved in two projects utilizing technology in the curriculum. BOS (Build on Science) is a grant from ISBE and NSF to change how children learn about science in school. Working with Marilyn Sinclair from UIUC, we are revamping the science curriculum to a hands-on approach. As these units are completed, they will be placed on our web page.

The second project is also related to science. In December, we found out that we were successful in a "Tried and True" grant from ISBE. This grant will provide $30,000 for connectivity to the internet and computer equipment. Our project called, "Science-Hands Off Becomes Hands On" will be completed with a web page placed on the ISBE page.
