I am a product of my experiences and the people who have shaped my life. Born in Alliance, Ohio, I received my elementary education in Wilmington, Delaware; my high school education in Charleston, West Virginia; my college education in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio at Ursuline College; my graduate degree of M.S. in Education at Illinois State University in Normal; and post-graduate work from Eastern, National Louis U., ISU, and the U of I, where I hope to eventually receive my doctorate. In between going to school, I have been a teacher. I taught one year in Pittsburgh, PA and the other 24 years have been spent at Stephen Decatur High School in Decatur, IL. I have taught the ACT prep class at Richland Community College for the last three years and enjoy it immensely. Although my field of expertise is English and Reading, I am fascinated by all of the fine arts. I especially enjoy reading, any art activity whatsoever (I tried my hand at throwing pottery last year, but I'm more accomplished in drawing, painting, and calligraphy), and traveling with my family. My travels in the Southwest have stimulated my interest in Native Americans and their literature. Like most dedicated moms, I follow my children's sports activities regularly. Filed into my file of future activities, I have at least four years of projects that I want to attempt. My zest for life is exceeded only by my desires to fill my hours with learning and sharing my knowledge with others.
