James Scholars may choose EPS 201/202 for Honors Credit by completing an individual honors contract (online or an IHC form). For your project you may write a 7-10 page paper, develop a 15-20 slide Power-point presentation on a selected topic, or conduct a research project either independently or by pairing with another James Scholars in the class. Your project must connect with a topic in EPS 201/202. We will meet periodically throughout the semester to discuss your progress on the project. A minimum of four meetings are required during the semester to fulfill your James Scholar contract: one or two meetings to select your topic, 2 meetings to discuss progress during the semester, and one meeting during finals week to discuss your project results. Students can arrange to meet me after lecture on Thursdays or during my office hours on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-3:30 PM or by appointment (contact me at jmconnel@uiuc.edu).
