                                My room is attached to the internet through a
                                local area network. Our mail, web
                                and student account servers are
                                located in an adjacent building
                                where our T-1 internet connection
                                is also located. All of our
                                computers are located behind a
                                firewall. All of the classrooms
                                in my building as well as our
                                class file servers are located in
                                this building. while each
                                classroom has a ethernet jack
                                installed, our building can only
                                support half of the classrooms
                                because we only have equipment to
                                support 6 of the 12 classrooms.
                                If I want to have dedicated
                                internet access to my room I need
                                to make a request before june of
                                that year. If I only need to have
                                access on certain days, I can get
                                temporatyu access from our
                                network administrator with 10
                                days notice. My building is wired
                                with a non-standard cable to
                                support both apple talk and
                                ethernet so I need to get a
                                special cable from my network
                                administrator. I also have to
                                remember to put the small end of
                                the cable into the wall!</td>
