This page and my major project were constructed for a class on Computer Uses in Education.

Education

I began my college education at The University of Nebraska at Omaha with a major in German. After 3 years, I moved to Kalamazoo and finished at Western Michigan University with a B.A. in Travel and Tourism (as well as German) with a minor in Spanish. I worked for 5 years as a Travel Agent/Consultant/Manager before deciding to come back to school.

I began my Graduate career at Texas A&M University, completing a M.S. in Recreation Resource Development in May, 1993. My thesis is entitled: The Effect of Personality and Situational Factors on Rule-Violation Intentions. This was especially useful for managing National Parks and Forests.

I am presently working on a doctorate in Leisure Behavior in the Department of Leisure Studies at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My specific interest is in Tourism and Tourism Education.

Interests

I am proud to be known as an "Original Trekkie". I watched it as a (very young) child and have enjoyed it ever since. I can accept the variations (ST:TNG and ST:DS9), but they don't hold my heart like Classic Trek.

I also like all kinds of science fiction such as:
