This project is one of several developed by a state organization (New Jersey Networking Infrastructure in Education) with an NSF grant. It appears that most of the projects make use of meteorological data available on the Internet. This project looked particularly interesting because it involved an investigation to find the location of a kidnapped "nuclear physicist." To do this, students must obtain both clues and weather data from the Internet. I found the project interesting because it makes use of several Internet resources, would probably be relatively engaging for students, and is more complex than most of what I found. A lot of the projects appear to be data-gathering or sharing processes which could be done without the use of a network, and I'm not sure they're the best use of this educational format.
