*****1996 SIG/Tel Online Activity Plan Contest*****

Are you and your students involved in an exemplary online
project or activity? If so, begin planning now to enter the
SIG/Tel 1996 Classroom Activity Plan Contest. Since 1991,
creative teachers have been recognized by SIG/Tel for their
pioneering use of telecommunication networks to expand
learning opportunities for students at all levels.

Winners will receive a free membership in ISTE, the
International Society for Technology in Education. SIG/Tel
is the Special Interest Group on Telecommunications, a
division of ISTE. In addition, winners will be invited to
present their activity plans at Tel-Ed/Multimedia 96 held
jointly in Tampa, Florida, and Monterrey, Mexico, and at
NECC '97 in Seattle, Washington.

PRIZES include subscriptions to a variety of online
telecommunication services and products. Last year our
sponsors included America Tomorrow/Prodigy, CompuServe,
Dialog Information Services, and I*EARN. New sponsors for
this year's contest include Hayes Microcomputer Products,
Classroom Connect, ITP School Publishing, and Netmanage Inc.

As appropriate for an online telecomputing contest, all
entries must be submitted online. The deadline is Friday,
May 10, 1996.

     ***Contest Procedures and Requirements***

would like to use to incorporate telecomputing in the
