Prof. Levin,
following are 'only' two
links to a vast net educational resources.
I am planning on doing some research with Zhao Yong on that topic. we 'll have
my students subscribe to some newsgroups and to explore the internet with
the idea in mind that they should come up with good and bad example of 'grammar in use'
http://www.willamette.edu/~tjones/languages
http://www.csu.edu.au/stats/search.html
I 'll explore more connections in greater detail this weekend,
and I'll send you an update then.

Dear Prof. Levin,
I am interested in exploring College of Agriculture home page in UIUC.
It includes many resources which are valueable for my field of study.
It is at http://gopher.ag.uiuc.edu/

Prof. Levin,
I am a Masters of Science for the Teaching of Computer Science (MSTCS) student,
and I am therefore interested in anything pertaining to the study of computer
science at the secondary or even post-secondary level.
Interestingly, despite the abundance of information about using computers to
teach various subjects, including science, there is actually very little
(that I have yet found) in the literature on the subject of teaching
Computer Science, a subject which, apparently, is either trivial or obvious.
This paucity seems to carry over into the WWW.
Thus, while it is not necessarily devoted to education, the following URL
is interesting in that it deals with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), which,
as you are probably well aware, is the currently exciting paradigm/fad.
> >
> >
> > Here is an OO URL:
> > http://www.clark.net/pub/howie/OO/oo_home.html
> >
I hope that more exploration of the Web may lead me to other resources.
I look forward to the rest of the semester.
Regards,
Jay Geistlinger

This is the address of my present favorite place on the WWW. It is called
MUSIC RESOURCES and is put together by Douglas Stoun.
MUSIC RESOURCES pulls together a wealth of music and music education
resources with four main categories: Schools of Music, Research Sites,
Other Music Resources Sites, and Miscellaneous Music Sites.
The Schools of Music section takes us to the title pages of several major
university schools of music and leads to multiple resources.
It looks like a tremendous resource for future surfing.

Professor Levin,
My research interest is in multcultural education--curriculum and
materials development. In my "search" for a favorite place, I
came across a resource that gives some historical background to the
changing demographics in the US and its effect on education.
It is at: http://www.gallaudet.edu/~cadsweb/cultmos.html
I would like to find more resources, but I may need some help....

Yahoo which currently contains more than 25400 entries is a hierarchical
hotlist for the WWW. The Yahoo database which is maintained by Yahoo
authors in Standford University includes 19 main sections. Among these
sections, I found Computers, Education and Entertainment most interesting
and relevant to the topics of our class.

Dear Professor Levin:
I found a series of links which were very useful to me as a teacher:
"Yahoo: A Guide to WWW"--This is kind of like the electronic "Whole
Internet Catalog," but I liked it a lot better. I think this is something
I could use on a homepage for my students if they wanted to do research.
Address: http://nearnet.gnn.com/gnn/wic/netinfo.41.html
In Yahoo, I found a listing under "Education." This also contained a wide
variety of sources. Address: http://akebono.stanford.edu/yahoo/Education/
Under "Education" I found the heading "Humanities: Human Languages and
Linguistics: English: Writing." This is actually the most useful for me
since I teach a writing class. There was everything from directions on
how to punctuate to hints for the writing teacher. THe address for this
is: http://akebono.stanford.edu/yahoo/Humanities/Human_Languages_and_Linguistics/English/Writing/
Under ""Humanities: Human Languages and Linguistics: English: Writing" I
found two more useful resources for writing teacher:
Writing Resources on the Web
http://owl.trc.purdue.edu/resources.html
Rhetnet: A Cyberjournal for rhetoric and writing

This page is for the student health service at the University of
Chicago. The connection to my interests in education is that I am a
health educator by degrees and experience. Most of my experience is as a
health educator in the college health center setting. A listserve group
of which I am a member, has formed a small group to work on linked home
pages for health centers and college health education concerns. When we
formed our group in December we knew of no home pages.
