NETWORK EXAMPLE
I

found an example of communication; it is also an example of collaboration because it is made up of information from several different sources. This is about a television series on the Knowledge Network. The URL is http://oilpatch.schdist60.bc.ca/Get/KN/Forest/trees.html/

It is called Forests of Trees, Forests of Images, Forests of Words. This example tells of a series of television programs to be aired on Cable 5, available in most of British Columbia. They were/will be aired on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. from January 19 to March 16.. Each program will feature a panel of experts . There are brief resumes of each of the experts. Details of the series are given, and transcripts of each panel discussion are available through hypertext. There is a list of resources which each lead to further information. There is a section on the media portrayal of forests and laws.

NON-NETWORK EXAMPLE
A non network example of communication is the interaction I am sharing with a professor at Purdue who is directing an independent study for me. I visit him every three weeks to discuss the progress of the study. We also exchange articles and other information through the U.S. mail service. I hope that this exchange will make more use of the network. We are doing this by using e-mail, and we want to explore other means of information exchange.
