STCC will take a leadership role in demonstrating a strategy for dissemination of information on adaptive technology and proven techniques for increasing job placement within a local alliance of seven colleges for students with disabilities.
STCC will develop and train a local network of employers in applications of adaptive technology that may be used to increase the employability of students with disabilities. A Mobile Adaptive Technology Unit will be used to bring resources to employers for training, consciousness raising, and AD information.
Linkages with the local "One Stop Career Center" a regional public employment and placement agency, will be developed to assist in expanding local employer awareness. The model will pilot and evaluate a regional approach for improving job placement. Focusing regional awareness among all of the locality's colleges and major employers regarding employability issues will serve to increase the impact and cost-effectiveness of the model.
