LaGuardia CC is proposing two model programs that together address and remediate long standing barriers to the successful postsecondary outcomes of deaf students. This project will demonstrate two model programs that will improve the outcomes of deaf students who attend mainstream institutions:

• A model program of supplemental instruction (SI) which consists of an adaptation of a highly acclaimed peer tutoring program currently used exclusively with hearing population, and
• a model program of job placement services enhancement, which consists of broadening the focus of postsecondary job development services to include concerns and needs as relevant to deaf students.
