The proposal requests funding for the integration of accommodations into telecourses presented by Honolulu Community College. The integrated accommodations would include closed captioning, signage, and a complete transcript of each program. Eleven to twelve courses (33 to 36 credits) of the CORE courses that are required for either the Associate in Sccience, Associate in Arts, and/or for transfer to the University of Hawaii would be produced with the integrated accommodations. The grant would create an option for students with disabilities to utilize telecourses to complete coursework via television. For an island state this proposal will significantly support access to postsecondary education for the disabled population.
