1. Is this report pleasing in its whole?

2. Do individual parts (even each sentence) contribute to the whole?

3. Does it have a conceptual structure, preferably based on issues?

4. Does it deal with educational matters in a serious and scholarly way?

5. Is the case adequately defined?

6. Is there a sense of story?

7. Is vicarious experience provided?

8. Have quotations been used effectively?

9. Are headings, figures, artifacts, appendices, indexes effectively used?

10. Did the editing get a final polish?

11. Has the researcher provided sound assertions, neither underinterpreting nor overinterpreting?

12. Is adequate attention paid to contexts (physical. temporal, institutional, etc.)?

13. Are data sources good and sufficient?

14. Were sufficient raw data presented?

15. Have observations and interpretations been triangulated?

16. Are multiple realities considered?

17. Is role and viewpoint of researcher nicely indicated?

18. Is the nature of the audience apparent?

19. Is empathy shown for all sides?
