Wireless at the College of Education

Wireless Computing

As of January 2003, faculty, staff, and students at the UIUC College of Education have access to the UIUCnet wireless network. The UIUCnet wireless network is designed to allow users to connect to the main UIUCnet network and the Internet from any location where the wireless base stations have been installed. To access the UIUCnet wireless network, users will need a computer with a wireless networking card, the virtual private network software, and a valid UIUC network ID (Kerberos) password.

These pages provide more information on wireless networking and instructions for configuring computers to connect to UIUCnet. Any questions about this information should be directed to Michael T Williams in the Office of Educational Technology at mtwillia@uiuc.edu or 244-7005.
