Connecting to the College of Education Servers from a Macintosh 9.2 or earlier Machine

Macintosh users must have current UAMs installed and Appletalk enabled.
1. Select Chooser from the Apple menu.

2. Select "AppleShare" in the upper left-hand pane, "Education" in the lower-left pane (if it exists), and click on www.ed.uiuc.edu in the upper-right pane. If www.ed.uiuc.edu is not displayed, click the "Server IP Address..." button and go to step 2b.

2b. If you clicked on "Server IP Address", then you will be prompted to enter the host name of the web server (e.g., www.ed.uiuc.edu, files.ed.uiuc.edu). See College Servers and Names for a list of servers and their domain names in the College of Education.

3. The following dialog box should appear. If it does not, make sure the Micosoft UAM has been installed. Enter your Net ID and UIUC Active Directory account password and click Connect.

4. Select the share you would like to access. Do not check the boxes on the right, simply select the share by clicking on it once then click "OK"

5. The following message will appear. Click "OK"

6. An icon for the share will appear on your desktop as below.
7. Double click on the icon and subsequent directories until your reach your directory. In the images below, a students directory is being accessed.
