	I recently completed student teaching in the fifth grade at
 South Side Elementary School in Champaign, Illinois, and
 graduated in May, 1995 with a B.S. in Elementary Education
 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am
 writing to request consideration for positions you may
 anticipate for which I am qualified.

	My area of concentration is mathematics for which I am
 endorsed by the State of Illinois. My comprehensive coursework
 has prepared me well to teach not only math but all subjects
 at the elementary level. I have had a variety of experiences
 working with elementary and middle school children which
 include tutoring and counseling.

	As a member of the University of Illinois' Year Long Student
 Teaching Program, I have had the unique and exciting
 opportunity to observe and teach students in grades first,
 fourth, and fifth. My academic courses combined with these
 experiences, as well as extracurricular service projects, have
 prepared me well to teach in any elementary or middle school
 classroom.
