Description Peter H. Johnston is a 1981 PhD graduate of the Department of Educational Psychology. The language we use in the classroom affects children's learning in fundamental ways. It affects the ways they interact with and value each other and their diversity, the kinds of literacies they develop, and who they become as literate individuals. This talk describes the kinds of classroom talk that change children's worlds.
