I am currently working full time at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the U of I. I am the Training Coordinator in the Education & Outreach Division. What this really means is that I design curriculum, teach the workshops and coordinate the schedule and whatever else comes up relative to the cause. Most of the workshops that I teach cover uses of Information Technologies to people from all sectors of society - teachers, school administrators, students, faculty, government employees, business leaders, etc. I have been working at NCSA for the past two years and enjoy being able to learn and use new technologies as they become available and then disseminate this new knowledge to others. Prior to working at NCSA, I was employed at The Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington for eight years. There I taught and designed curriculum for the CAD/CAM software package used by engineers, designers, and drafters for airplane design. I received my bachelor of science in mathematics at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. This is also where I met my husband of eight years. I mention this because we both grew up in central Illinois. Fate. We are happy to be back to the home country where our two boys - 5 years and nine months - can grow and learn. We live in Urbana with our border collie and cat who also help to keep us young.
