The best thing about this project: The featured hero stories on the site are placed in one of many different hero categories and are accompanied by video clips, pictures, and histories of the selected participant's heroes. In addition, there is a section on the site which allows everyone to post a message about who their personal hero is and read other's stories about their personal heroes.
The worst thing about this project: The lack of an inroduction to the project on the initial page. Also, the vagueness about how someone gets picked to have a featured site.
What I would change to improve this project (and why): I would add an short introductory paragraph on the intial page to let people know what the site is about (the way they have the page is a large "my hero" and a graphical table of contents underneath) and then put the contents on a either a second page or taking up a smaller amount of space. I would also put some sort of information about how people's message posting may get picked as a featured site to encourage a little more thought in their posting. For instance, my hero story was picked to be a feature story (I haven't had time to get anything together yet) but I had no idea that the message posting that I had participated was used as a screening process!
