Travel Buddies

The best thing about this project: I liked this project because there was an actual toy that gets to travel to places that the kids haven't. I signed up for this project because I wanted to host a Travel Buddy. The buddy that came to visit is Frogger, a stuffed frog whose owner is Bart Ludwig. The buddy has so far travelled to Mexico, with a priest who helped to build a church there. The buddy was then sent to the White House, but Bill Clinton didn't sent Frogger to another person, but sent it back to the school. I'm next on the list, and I wrote a page about Champaign-Urbana, and what Frogger did at my place. He played with my dogs. I will send it to England next, where a friend is in medical school there.

The worst thing about this project: There wasn't anything bad about this project, maybe except that it was sent back to the school by the White House instead of going to another traveller. I guess I don't blame the White House, they must have very tight security.

What I would change to improve this project (and why): If I could, I would start sending the travel buddy to friends that I know. It is not really travelling season, so the travel buddy seems to have nowhere to go. But, it may be really difficult to find friends who live outside the U.S.. I think each class could send out 2-3 travel buddies so that there would be more places covered. I still think this project is a wonderful way for students to learn about other places and cultures.
