In this project the students learn geography terms, learn how to read and interpret maps, increase awareness of geographical and cultureal diversity. Each class completes a questionnaire about their own location, including information about latitude, typical weather, land formations, nearest river, time zone, points of interest and other items. This information is sent in to the coordinator and it is scrambled up with the information from the other classes participating. The data is returned to the participants as puzzles for the classes to solve. With the use of mapes, atlases, and other references, the students will try to figure out the communities and the correct information about them. Finally, the coordinator will e-mail out the correct answers so the class can determine if they got the right answers.
