Edith J. Cisneros-Cohernour has a JD in law (1984), a teaching certificate in
higher education (1986), and an M. Ed. in educational technology (1993) from
the University of Yucatan, Mexico. A former Fulbright scholar, she received
her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001. Ms. Cisneros
studies focus on the areas of evaluation, administration and higher education.
Especially interested in program evaluation, faculty and administrators evaluation
& development, organizational learning and the ethical aspects of research
& evaluation, she also has a strong interest in qualitative research methodology,
law instruction, and the study of effective teaching for multicultural children.
In addition to the Fulbright Scholarship (1993-1996), she has been a recipient
of the Bagley fellowship (1995-1998), a Mexican Grant for academic excellence
(1991) and a research grant from the Mexican Department of Education (1991).
She also received a summer research grant from LASPAU Academic Programs
for the Americas affiliated to Harvard Unive.rsity (1996), and the Tinker Summer
Research Fellowship from the Center of Latin American and Caribbean Studies
at the University of Illinois (1997). Currently, Ms. Cisneros-Cohernour is affiliated
with the Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan where she is a professor of Law &
Education.
